I was a dedicated athlete until joint pain, surgeries, and lower back issues sidelined me. My surgeon recommended lumbar fusion, but while waiting for his second consult, someone suggested I try yoga. Yoga was able to control my back pain and also help me to emotionally deal with the stresses of everyday life. I was able to put off my surgery for another five years and following recovery, I decided to train to become a yoga instructor. I can't bend in half or place my forehead on the floor while seated, and my students appreciate that I'm not your typical instructor.

My own Pilates journey began as a compliment to my ballet training. Initially, as injury prevention, Pilates turned into a career from which I started my own virtual fitness company, The Ballet Bod, in 2016. My classes flow, as you would in dance, with a distinct focus on the mind-body connection. I am also a Pre- and Postnatal Certified Coach and love helping my students find joy in their movement practice.

I started taking yoga to relieve stress and immediately fell in love with the practice of movement. I’ve always been flexible due to hypermobility and yoga helped me find a way to move that aligned with the needs of my body. I finally started feeling at home in my own skin and that inspired me to take yoga teacher training. I graduated from training in 2016 and have been teaching ever since. My style of teaching meets you where you are at the moment. I always ask my class what THEY need to work on that day and build a class around the answers. My classes are open to all abilities.
