MEET LAUREN

My passion is in helping others experience the transformative power of self-compassion. It's been the key to my own emotional health, and I love sharing the freedom it provides.

I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and current candidate at the Greater Kansas City Psychoanalytic Institute, working towards a certification in psychoanalysis.

I work with adults struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, low self-esteem, relationship issues, and trauma. I use an integrative approach that draws upon psychoanalytic theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and emotion-focused therapy to gain insight into how our past relationships shape who we are and how we relate to others. I also teach mindfulness-based interventions as practical skills to help alleviate and regulate symptoms of depression and anxiety.

Through the therapeutic relationship, we will learn to welcome, hold, and metabolize your losses, and thus find the vitality waiting for you on the other side. My hope is to create a safe environment where you feel deeply heard and validated. I look forward to hearing from you & supporting you on your path to healing.

CLIENT REVIEWS

"From our first session, Lauren has made me feel comfortable, safe, and heard. She and I have worked through many tough times in my life (past and present). Since starting to see her I have a much better understanding of myself and who I am."

"Lauren provided a safe and trustworthy space to process my thoughts and experiences and was able to help me work through several mental roadblocks. Her knowledge of trauma helped me understand why my brain and body react the way they do, and the tools and resources she gave me continue to help me function independently. I am eternally grateful for the positive impact Lauren had on my mental health and quality of life".

"Lauren's compassion, empathy, and way of making me feel heard and understood made such a huge difference in my life. I am so grateful for the work we did together."
